Le Creuset Cast Iron Process
Jan 23rd, 2010 | Category: Cast Iron, VideosThis is another fantastic video about the manufacturing process of Lecreuset cast iron cookware. It shows you the whole journey from raw iron to final product. Le Creuset means melting pot and this video shows how that part of the process works, first you have to melt the iron. A sand mold is used to create the shape of the pot or dish. Then it is sanded and shotblasted. Shot blasting prepares the pot for enameling. Three coats of enamel are used. There is one coat to seal the cast iron. Then one for interior covering. And then there is the outer coat that shows the outer color. Two tone color is often used for which Le Creuset is famous. Quality is paramount as there are many quality checks along the whole process. Watch the video and get an even greater appreciation for the best cast iron cookware products around.
